Hello Everyone,
**Gave a donation to the Ukrainian Cultural Center, through our church, for the people of Ukraine.
** Help our Seniors:
Living in a Senior Living it feels like all the baby-boomers are hitting the old age at the same time. There are so many seniors that need help on a daily basis. These seniors are mostly home-bound, in the wheel chair, using walkers, or they don’t have any family to visit them. Here are some of the ways I help my friends and neighbors:
- In 2020 when we were here only for three months, we had a power outage. Next morning, I went out on my floor, door to door to see if someone needs any breakfast. I offered cold cereal, milk, and banana. My husband was thrilled to see me helping others.
- If you don’t see them around, knock on their door, and make sure they are OK. If they are sick, having trouble in walking etc. you can pick up their food, and mail etc.
- Occasionally I make a special trip to do the food shopping for the sick.
- Before going to shopping ask them if they need anything you can pick up for them.
- Give a card and/or some fruits on their birthdays. So, they are not lonely.
- At the various events: help them join the activities and meeting etc. Or bring some food back from the social gathering, and brief them about the meetings etc.
- If possible, take a round around 7:00p.m. on your floor. Make sure they have taken their dinner in. So that dinner doesn’t go waste, and they don’t go to sleep hungry.
- If you can afford give a card or some fruits, after they come back from the hospital, and make sure they have some food in the apartment. Also, when they are in quarantine talk to them and/or sent them a care package (as I do for all 5 buildings).
- If they can’t read or out of touch, talk to them about the current affairs and news. I also give my newspaper to an elderly person who wants to keep up-to-date with the news.
- Report to family/doctor/police of any urgent need, or medical attention they need.
Since my husband passed away, a year ago, I try to keep myself busy. You have to see the Blessings I get in return. That makes my day!
I also try to correct the situation if it warrants to: changed the Continental Breakfast to a Healthy Breakfast after working with the Dining Dept.
Due to the special need, and working with the families, helped sent two residents to the Assisted Living. Now I am glad they are in good hands. So please, find some time and help our helpless friends/neighbors. You may be securing a place in the Heaven for yourself!
** Every time you smile, love, and cherish someone, it’s your priceless gift to someone. Sushil

Random Acts of Kindness
You don’t need money, just a little time to give mental support and be kind to all. Check on the elderly, bring their Newspaper to their door in bad weather, say hello to your neighbors when you see them, wish them happy holidays and birthdays etc. Call your parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles; talk to them to make sure they are not lonely. Thank the soldiers when you see them for keeping us safe; thank priests, police officers, teachers, health care workers, food suppliers, postal workers, newspaper persons, trash collectors for their services. Write notes to a lonely and unknown person and make his or her day. Give thanks to all those heroes who are sacrificing their lives to help others during this Pandemic. You all are Angels.
