Random Act of Kindness/Health

Random Act of Kindness/Health

Hello Everyone,

**Helped pay for the grocery for the needy family.

**Are you lonely?

We all came alone in this world, and would go back alone to meet our maker but no one should be lonely in the life.  Do you know that loneliness or lack of companionship or separation from others is bad for the health.  It can be the root cause of many illnesses.  Please find ways to keep yourself busy and occupied, be happy and enjoy the life as much as possible:

  • Find a friend, neighbor or a companion to join a gym or go out for a walk etc. Research has shown that having a partner motivates the people to do the things.
  • Widen your friendship circle: by phone calls, video calls, hang out with friends for window shopping, lunch and social gathering etc.
  • Join clubs, or volunteer at the animal shelter and/or a non-profit group. I have joined “Woman’s Club” for last 11 years.  That keeps me informed of local activities, and around holidays we bake cookies to donate to the Nursing Homes, sick and needy people around the town.
  • Andrew Parker, a telehealth expert, founded “Papa Pals” app to improve the health of older adults and families.
  • “Generation Tech” app also unites teens with grandparents, and seniors for technology training.
  • “Mon Ami” helps aging and disable through the case management software. This app connects isolated older people with student volunteers.
  • I live in a Senior Living. I have no family here.  I try to do one act of Kindness every day. People around me are my family and friends. People who don’t drive, and home-bound, I help them out. I even do the food shopping for the sick.  You have to see the expression on their faces, and the blessings I get in return is priceless.
  • On Christmas morning I came down to get coffee from the Bistro, I saw four employees were working. I went back to my apartment and brought some chocolate and candy boxes for them.  I not only surprised them but they surprised me with their expression and gratitude.  I felt like I am giving out gifts in my own family.  Create your own happiness!
  • According to Xygalatas, an associate professor of anthropology and psychological sciences at the University of Connecticut, “Studies show that spending money on others feels better than splurging on ourselves.”
  • Remember, as my father used to say, “Be humble, courteous, charitable, caring, have confidence, courage, determination, and pray to the God for the peace of mind, the life will be very enjoyable.” My mother used to say, “Avoid the negatives and concentrate on positives. You are the creator or your own happiness.  No one else is going to do it for you.” My philosophy is, Life is too short, enjoy life to the fullest in a respectable way.  You may even end up having a long and a healthy life.

**”The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.”  Helen Keller

May God keep you healthy and safe during this Pandemic,

Random Acts of Kindness

You don’t need money, just a little time to give mental support and be kind to all.  Check on the elderly, bring their Newspaper to their door in bad weather, say hello to your neighbors when you see them, wish them happy holidays and birthdays etc.  Call your parents, grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles; talk to them to make sure they are not lonely.  Thank the soldiers when you see them for keeping us safe; thank priests, police officers, teachers, health care workers, food suppliers, postal workers, newspaper persons, trash collectors for their services.  Write notes to a lonely and unknown person and make his or her day.  Give thanks to all those heroes who are sacrificing their lives to help others during this Pandemic.  You all are Angels.
