Cherries are loaded with nutrition. Here is the easy and tasty way to use them for dessert. It takes only 5 minutes to make this dessert so make it just before serving.
Ingredients: 1/2cup maple syrup; 1Tbsp. fresh lemon juice (or 1/4cup fresh squeezed orange juice), 1/4cup mixed nuts; 1 jar 8oz, cherries in the liquid drained; 4 slices of your favorite cake.
Place the cake in the serving dishes. Heat a pan on medium heat. Add syrup and lemon juice and cook about five minutes on medium-high heat until it starts bubbling. Add the drained cherries. Swirl the pan to coat cherries with the syrup and pour evenly over the cake slices. Sprinkle with the nuts and serve immediately.
